Why does the waveform oscillate after adding a diode to the output of the op amp?

Hardware design
diciembre 16, 2020 by Imanol 1481

Figure 1: Adding a diode to the output of the operational amplifier (OP07AJ) causes the output waveform to oscillate;

Figure 2: No diode is added to the output of the op amp, the output is normal;

In addition, the signal flow in Figure 1 is based on the arrow flow in the figure (1-->2-->3-->4-->5-->6-->7 (in addition, some of the signals in 3 places go to 8 ))?

Thank you

What is the string diode for? Should it be a peak detector circuit? A capacitor should be connected to the back instead of a resistor. If you connect directly in this way, it will indeed oscillate.

    why?

    Also, is the signal flow in the second picture correct? Thanks

The flow direction is correct, but I don't know what your circuit is used for. It is a bit like a peak detector circuit. Are you playing with your own circuit test?

Diodes have inductive characteristics, so oscillation is normal.
