Does the PCB layout affect the current consumption?

Hardware design
octubre 22, 2020 by Lily 1409

I recently drew a board. The layout and layout of the first and second editions are different, and the PCB manufacturers are also different. The current consumption of the first edition is 70mA, and the current consumption of the second edition is 45mA. The devices are exactly the same.

Will it be the difference in current consumption caused by different layouts, or the difference in PCB manufacturers? Anyone with experience can help explain, thank you!

Yes, is there a big difference in the width of your wiring?

It depends on your specific circuit. What are the key components? Have very high frequency signals? The general circuit, the impact is certainly not that big, right?

This may be such a small current value. If the copper foil material or even the GND VCC copper pour amount can cause the current to deviate, and even the components are the same, there is also a slight difference in the internal. This current difference can be ignored.
