The IoT ecosystem and connected devices unlock new service offerings and peripheral services. However, the prototyping process for IoT use cases utilizing sensors can be resource-intensive until a smart IoT system is deployed. To help hardware and software engineers develop IoT devices, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has launched a new IoT sensor platform, the XENSIV™ Connected Sensor Kit (CSK), designed to accelerate Prototyping and development of custom IoT solutions.

Laurent Remont, Vice President IoT and Sensor Solutions, Power & Sensing Systems Division, Infineon Technologies, said: "One of the biggest challenges customers face today is how to integrate sensors, microcontrollers and secure connections. To this end, Infineon has developed the XENSIV™ Connected Sensor Kit to accelerate the prototyping of IoT connected sensors. The kit combines hardware and software to help customers significantly reduce time-to-market for IoT products."

This connected sensor kit integrates a variety of XENSIV sensors with a built-in PSoC™ 6 microcontroller for energy efficiency and high-performance processing for many advanced use cases. The kit achieves a secure connection with the OPTIGA™ Trust M security chip. Its development board modules are designed to be form factor compatible with Adafruit and can provide prototyping solutions for various sensor use cases, such as battery-powered smart home applications. In the 10-minute IoT experience video, the sensor kit uses Infineon's products to create a plug-and-play sensor solution and quickly realize data visualization.

In addition, the Infineon Sensor Cloud Dashboard simplifies the user interface through the AWS cloud service architecture, making rapid prototyping easier. At the same time, it can realize rapid expansion according to the actual deployment situation, and provide a unified control interface that can monitor multiple devices at the same time. All components of this connected sensor kit come with code samples and code libraries from ModusToolbox™. ModusToolbox™ is an important part of Infineon's software ecosystem. With ModusToolbox™, customers can use ModusToolbox™ to conduct proof of concept for specific function development and accelerate product development through the creation of various new sensor application scenarios.

The connected sensor suite can be securely and reliably connected to mainstream cloud service platforms such as AWS IoT Core, and used to publish, configure and subscribe information to and from the cloud platform. Among them, the CSK PASC02 environmental sensor for measuring carbon dioxide concentration (CO2 ppm) in the air and the CSK BGT60TR13C millimeter-wave radar sensor for presence detection and vital sign monitoring have been included in the AWS Partner Device Catalog together with the XENSIV Connected Sensor Kit middle.
